La última Ley Valenciana sobre el PICUDO ROJO exime al gobierno valenciano de ninguna responsabilidad frente a la plaga del Picudo Rojo, recayendo la responsabilidad de las palmeras en sus propietarios. La empresa TRAGSA aún mantiene el servicio de recogida, pero solamente accederá a recoger en aquellas direcciones cuyos particulares hayan cortado y embolsado previamente las palmeras.
